OUGD402 - Personal and Proffesional Practice - briefing and study task 1

We began with a small talk from Simon about what (PPP) is about and what would be happening in the days session. Then we were given two informative presentations from John on 'who he is' and 'what role he plays in the college' then onto how Art and Design and general life has changed so rapidly over the last few decades. 
Giving us an in site into the past ways of living and how colour, youth, socialism, music, art and design had changed the world to the place we live in now.

After these two presentations we were all split into small separate groups and each group was given the task to research a design company, to collect information on that company based on the five questions:

• Who are they?
• Where are they based?
• What do they do?
• How do they do it?
• What makes them unique? 

Each group was given a different design company to research, ours was 'We are Build'.

'Build' is a design consultancy based in London with international reputations for creating and producing modern design solutions for all forward thinking clients. The company was founded in 2001 by the (creative director - Michael C. Place) and the (business director - Nicky Place). 

They specialise in producing visual identities for design led clients. Their portfolio includes art direction, brand identity and graphic design. With a extensive experience in production of print, moving images and website design.
